Section 4. Waiver Of Liability

I the undersigned want to join the First Paintball Light Infantry (PLI) with the express purpose of participating in paintball games. I understand that I am permitted to use PLI equipment and procedures only under proper execution of this document and that this document is a material part of the consideration and agreement between myself and the PLI, Unit Staff, Event Staff, Event Organizers, Sponsors, and PLI Field and Organizational Leadership (hereinafter referred to all inclusively as Staff and Sponsors). I fully acknowledge the Staff and Sponsors have employed diligent efforts and care in making the events, procedures, safety rules, and procedures as safe as possible, and in formulating, explaining, and enforcing adequate safety regulations. I have read or been read, and have had explained to me, the PLI safety regulations and I fully understand these regulations and agree to abide by them, including the full and complete use of all paintball safety equipment so as not to injure myself or other participants.

I further understand that despite all the foregoing efforts there are never-the-less certain risks inherent in participating in paintball activities, and that among those risks are possible trips, falls, collisions with other people or objects, impact bruises, cuts, scrapes, equipment failure, and contact with animals, insects, or plants that I may have an allergic or adverse reaction to, etc.

I fully understand that playing paintball can be mentally and physically challenging and that the possibility exists of injury to myself and others and confirm that I am fully aware of these risks. I further confirm that I am mentally and physically able to participate in PLI events and that I am in good health and do not suffer from a heart condition or other ailment that could be exacerbated by the exertion involved in PLI Activities. I have included any and all medical problems for PLI review in the Medical Section of this document and understand that should my medical condition change it is my duty to inform the PLI.

I hereby agree that if I or my property are injured or damaged while participating in PLI events I remit, release, and forever discharge, without limitations, The PLI and Staff and Sponsors, etc. Indemnifying them against any and all claims, actions, suits, complaints, procedures, costs, expenses (including attorney's fees and expenses), damages, and liabilities arising out of, connected with, or resulting from my participation in club activities, including, without limitation, those resulting from the manufacture, selection, delivery, maintenance, sale, possession, or operation of paintball equipment, and specifically PLI issued equipment.

I hereby release the PLI, Staff and Sponsors, and event property holders, from any claims and liabilities whatsoever, and I understand that this release shall be binding upon my estate, my heirs, my representatives, and my assigns. I also understand that I am responsible for my own actions and shall assume any and all legal recourse against me for my actions.

I also understand that violation of the PLI Code of Conduct or other protocols of the organization may result in disciPLInary action up to and including dismissal from the unit and in the event of such disciPLInary action I agree to be bound by the decision of the unit in accordance with the by laws. I have read or been read the By Laws and Protocols of the unit and agree to abide by them for the duration of my membership in the unit. I further agree to return any and all PLI logo items, patches, flags, and banners and any other members’ only items that I have purchased should I be dismissed from the unit understanding that I will be refunded a portion of the purchase price based on each items’ condition, said amount to be decided on by the PLI.

I certify to the PLI that I am at least eighteen years of age, or that if I am under eighteen years of age I have discussed the terms and conditions of this document with my parents or guardians, and that my parents, after carefully reading this document, consent to me signing the same, or my parents have signed it for me, and further, that I have been authorized by my parents to agree to the specific terms and conditions herein.

I have read and fully understand the terms of this agreement. This is fully intended to be a legally binding contract over me for the duration of my membership in the Paintball Light Infantry. If I have any doubts concerning the contents of this document I will consult an attorney before signing it. I state that I am at least eighteen years of age and in good health, and intend to be bound by this agreement. I sign this document freely and of my own will. No force or coercion has caused me to sign this document.

Section 5. Selection Of Battalion Captain Council Representative

(This section need only be completed by the Team Commander or person chosen as BCC Representative)

In accordance with the By-Laws, each team must designate one member to serve as their representative on the Battalion Captain Council (BCC). This member speaks for the team he/she represents and casts the vote(s) of the team. They serve as the official communication conduit between the PLI HQ and member teams. The PLI does not tell member teams how to select their BCC, but recommends only that a responsible team member who is trusted by the team be selected.

The BCC representative is expected to uphold the ideals of the PLI in their team at all times and participate in as many meetings and events as possible. They MUST have access to the internet to attend online meetings.
