Platoon Delta
Platoon Delta The platoon delta is an extended wedge with both front and rear security. The platoon leader should assume a centrally controlling position in the platoon. A point detail of at least one man proceeds the formation. A rear security detail of two men to an entire squad (depending on the size of the platoon) should be detailed as rear security. This rearguard force may also act as a flanking unit or reinforcements should the platoon suffer serious casualties in one portion of the line. This formation can be used to transport important persons or items and is the preferred method for platoon movement when contact with the enemy is expected. |
