From the Overall Coordinator

8/10/2000 The PLI Is growing quickly. Units must endeavor to reach at least five members as soon as possible to enter the organizational and event command rotation. We are working with APG (www.actionpursuitgames.com) on a forthcoming article about the PLI. We need all our units help in getting pictures together for that article. The 1st SC is hosting the "Panic in the Streets" event in Ocala FL and has invited all member teams to participate, contact them for more information. We now have a full set of US and PLI Colors with liteweight poles in the event kit. They look great beside the 1st SC Command Tent! Hope your recruiting efforts are showing some results. The PLI is truly a new step for most paintballers, and many are watching us from the sidelines to see if we will be successful. We all need to work to do it. See you at Wayne's World!

8/1/2000 PLI FM 2-1 Proof had mistakes which will delay publication 3-5 weeks.

7/21/2000 PLI Founding Member Certificates have been printed. You will be recieving them soon!

7/6/2000 By Laws passed as written, we are official! We also had a unanimous vote to adopt and endorse the PLI Core Values. By unamimous vote (with my own 1st SC abstaining) the PLI has asked me to maintain the EC position for six more months. This is possible only because I was "acting" EC during our initial formation period. I graciously accept, though I look forward to passing the mantle of leadership in January 2001.

7/5/2000 Final By Law revisions have been posted. Tomorrow we will have the first and most important official meeting we will ever have to establish the unit as an official force. Hope to see you all there. As the Acting EC, my unit is volunteering to forego their six month tenure as "real" EC. We will leave it up to the membership. A number of people have asked me to stay on the next six months, and I am willing, and it IS allowable under the by laws since I have only been "acting" for our first six months. Whatever you (the memebers) think is appropriate.

We have been more successsful than I could have hoped in forming the unit and coming together as an entirely new type of paintball team. It has been MY HONOR to serve as the first EC of the unit, and I have enjoyed most of the duties. Thank you for believing in me and the unit.

6/12/2000 Bad news, the IRS knows we exist and has issued us our tax number. We are officially an entity now.

6/2/2000 Bank account opened and first deposits made. We are using PCBanker so we can switch the account access to new EC's as they come into office.

5/5/2000 Many many milsim free updates and changes! Check out the new look of the site!

5/1/00 New By Law revisions simPLIfy the organization and deemphasize the milsim side of it. There is much more to the PLI than Milsim and it is time we let people know! Also made some cosmetic changes to the front page.

4/30/00 The Tier system has been established. This will allow members to progress through the levels based on their dedication, longevity, etc. Check out the tier page on the home page.

4/28/00 The PLI Leadership School is founded to help leaders in our unit and in the sport in general. Its function will be to teach paintball leaders not only basic leadership, but safety, what if's, and the importance of keeping cool. Send in your suggestions!

4/28/00 We have disciPLIned our first player. He plead guilty and requested an Ec's mast, which was held. If you must know more, the disciPLInary report is on the forum. He has accepted the punishment, and we will move on and learn from it.

4/17/00 The 1st Texas hosted Texas Revolution VI. Our tactics worked but there were a few problems. They will be dealt with.

3/9/00 Well the 1st New York participated in the first PLI event ever, Ice Station Zero. Check out the After Action report on the AAR page. We have added a Norwegian team to our roster, so be sure to welcome them to the PLI.

3/4/00 PLI and Paintball Warrior patches are in and will be shipping out soon!

2/22/00 The PLI Flag and banner are done and look terrific, the 1st NY will have them for our first event.

2/10/00 Recruiting is going well. I cannot stress enough how essential it is to recruit quality teams and players. Being professional will attract them to the unit. This means planning events, looking organized, flying the flag, having a banner, and being able to ANSWER their questions. We have a lot of resources for our member teams available at cost in the PLI store to purchase or rent for events. This can include personalized business cards and flyers. Contact PLI HQ. Also send in your suggestionds for improvments. I went to update the general orders and realized they were version 1.0 (we are now on version 3.0!) If you find things that don't sound right on the web site, let the webmaster know because of the overlap, we sometimes have trouble updating all the areas that pertain to a certain event, order, or section.

1/1/00 Still here, the world didn't end, but we seem to have lost some notes. Oh well.

12/31/1999 The Web Sight is nearly complete just some cosmetics now and one pic that is trying to be my nemesis! The first online meeting is January 8th at 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (1900). Lots of work, but worth it. Time to put it all together. Email articles to PLI HQ to be posted on the web page.

8/20/1999 Greetings members and recruits. I am proud to announce the new web site, much improved and expanded from the old site. I hope many of your questions are answered here. There is a lot of text, but much of it is important and I hope you will read through it thoroughly. The idea for the PLI comes from years of paintball and was inspired by my days as commander of Grey Storm, The Citadel Paintball Team. Grey Storm routinely fielded upwards of twenty men at nearly all our events. This gave us the chance to see how fun paintball could be with larger platoon sized groups. Check out the site. Hope to see your name on the apPLIcation soon!
