The 1st Maine Detachment of the PLI takes its name from one of the most famous Maine citizens ever. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. Commander of the 20th Maine Regiment of Volunteers at the Battle of Gettysburg, Chamberlain saved the...butt of the Union Army by leading his men against four rebel regiments! The only General promoted in the field by Ulysses S. Grant for bravery and courage. For his day at Gettysburg, he is awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Chamberlains' Chargers is a scenario paintball club dedicated to the ideals that the Paintball Light Infantry...and General Chamberlain embodied. The Paintball Light Infantry is an organization dedicated to organizing scenario paintball teams and clubs around the world.
