It is the mission of the Paintball Light Infantry to enhance the paintball experience for like minded players by providing a framework of tactics and standardization of communications and operating procedures to enhance the fantasy of the members, and to provide players with the opportunity to lead and follow in big game scenario situation. This will be accomPLIshed with integrity and honor by all members, who shall place these values above victory.
The PLI was formed by paintballers, for paintballers to increase our enjoyment of the newest and (to many of us) the best part of paintball, the scenario game. The PLI provides a standardization of tactics, communications, procedures, safety standards, and a dedication to playing with HONOR and INTEGRITY.
The PLI does not exist so the few can lead the many. Leadership positions in the field and in the organization are rotated from among the representatives elected from each local team to represent them in true democratic fashion. PLI members play in Big Games, Scenarios, and even the occasional tournament. Member teams maintain their own ways of operating, but fall into the PLI framework at big games. This allows small teams to seamlessly come together to form large groups of organized players. Whether we are representing a platoon of Starship Troopers, a gaggle of Elves, a group of gangster "Wise Guys", or a ragtag group of rebels, the PLI framework allows our units to participate more fully in the Big Game/Scenario experience within the rules of the scenario.
The organization is for team players that want the full experience of playing big game scenarios. It is not an organization for hotdoggers or those who do not practice stringent safety rules. PLI members will be held to a higher standard by the Organization and the Paintball World.
But there is more to membership than wearing a patch. Members must learn the PLI operating methods, communication codes and frequencies, sign language, tactics, standard procedures, and especially safety rules.
The PLI is a new concept in paintball. A national family of teams of dedicated players that comes together from all over the country (and indeed, the world!) to play together. If you see someone wearing the Splatted One, you know they subscribe to a higher standard, and if you too wear the splatted one, you know you have a friend on the field.
